G’day!

I'm Jack Johnson — A Travel and Fine-Art photographer based on the Sunshine Coast, and the person behind For The Wall Photography.

My relationship with photography began in a very different place. I served in the Army for 12 years, most of that in Reconnaissance, where cameras were used to record, observe and gather information. But somewhere along the way, that technical habit turned into something more. What began as documentation eventually became expression.

I’m drawn to scenes that feel calm, clean, and slightly dreamlike — the kind of moments where light, land and atmosphere come together, like something from a painter’s canvas (For those who can’t paint — photography!)

I’m not chasing perfection — just atmosphere within a scene

This isn’t a volume thing for me. Each print is part of a small edition, made with care — signed, numbered, printed on archival paper and packed by hand. I want every piece to carry a bit of the moment it came from.

The name "“for the wall” reflects the intention behind my work - framing scenes from my travels to bring depth and presence to everyday spaces. in doing so, my hope is to stimulate a conversation, create a moment of calm with your morning coffee or simply put a smile on your dial.

if you have any questions feel free to reach out. thanks for stopping by
